How to Use Session Replay

4 min read Observability

When a user reports something broke, Session Replay lets you watch what actually happened. Scrub through the recorded session, jump to the moment the error occurred, and connect it to the backend traces and logs behind it.

Steps

1

Open Session Replay

Go to the Replay page.

2

Filter sessions

Narrow down by error, route, user, or time so you find the session that matters quickly.

3

Play and scrub

Watch the session and drag the timeline to move through it. Rage-clicks and errors are marked on the scrubber.

4

Jump to the failure

Skip straight to the moment an error or dead-click happened instead of watching the whole session.

5

Link to an incident

Attach the replay to an incident so responders can see the user impact alongside the metrics.

Tip:

Replays correlate with traces and logs, so you can go from a user click straight to the backend span that failed. That is the full picture in one jump.
