Nova is a small, focused team building the operating system for autonomous site reliability. We hire for builders who ship, not for resumes. If you've ever been on-call at 3am and thought 'this should be automatable', we should talk.
Remote-first, async-default. Most work happens in writing, code, or recorded demos. Real-time meetings are reserved for decisions that genuinely benefit from synchronous discussion.
Ship-then-iterate. Small, frequent releases beat big, infrequent ones. The DORA metrics are not just for customers, they're how we operate internally.
Build in public. Most of what we build ends up on the blog, in the GitHub org, or as part of the open-source CLI. The work is the marketing.
Founder-direct. No SDR layer between you and Samson. You'll work with him on hard product calls in week one.
We don't keep a list of named open roles. Instead, we hire when we meet the right person for a real problem, founding engineer, founding designer, founding GTM, founding solutions architect. If you can imagine a role that helps Nova ship faster, propose it.
What to send: a short note about what you've built (one paragraph + one or two links), and what you'd want to build at Nova (one paragraph). No cover letter, no resume necessary, though include a CV/LinkedIn if you'd like.
Cash + equity, weighted toward equity. Pre-Series-A founder-led startup, the equity grant is meaningful and the upside is real. Cash is competitive but not FAANG-tier; that's deliberate.
Remote-friendly worldwide. Async hires expected; founder is in CST. Some roles will need overlap with North American business hours.
Health, time off, learning budget. Standard at hire, formalized as the team grows past ten people.
Founder-direct. Samson reads every application and replies within one business day.
