How to Use Nova Rewind

4 min read Workspace & Admin

Most incidents are caused by a change. Nova Rewind is change intelligence: it stitches deploys, feature-flag flips, scaling events, and config edits onto one timeline so you can answer the first question every responder asks, what changed right before this broke.

Steps

1

Open Nova Rewind

Go to the Nova Rewind page.

2

Pick a service or incident window

Choose the service that is misbehaving, or select an incident to load the window around it automatically.

3

Read the change feed

See every change in that window in order: deploys, feature-flag flips, scaling events, and config edits, all on one timeline.

4

Correlate a change with the impact

Line the change feed up against the metric that moved. The change that lands right before the impact is your prime suspect.

5

Act on the suspect change

Attach the suspect change to the incident, or turn the finding into a runbook step (such as a rollback) for next time.

Tip:

Connect GitHub and your cloud accounts so Rewind sees code and infrastructure changes together. The more change sources it has, the faster it pinpoints the cause.
