A studio for custom dashboards and workflows,
no PromQL or Grafana required

Nova Studio is the visual builder for custom dashboards, charts, and small workflows. Drag widgets, point them at NovaQL queries, lay them out, share with your team. Power users build custom dashboards faster than they could in Grafana; non-engineers build readable summaries without writing a query.

Widget Types

Fourteen, designed for ops

Fourteen widget types, each tuned for an ops question. Time-series charts, sparklines, big-number tiles, top-N tables, heatmaps, gauges, status grids, log tails, deploy timelines, on-call panels, incident tables, SLO bands, traffic-split rings, comparison cards. Each widget is one query plus a render config.

  • 14 types: cover the common ops questions; not 100 generic widgets
  • Query + render: each widget is a NovaQL query plus a render style, separate concerns
  • Live preview: edits show in real time; no save-and-reload to see what a change looks like

NovaQL Backed

One query language for every widget

Every widget is backed by a NovaQL query. Plain-English mode is supported in the editor: type "show me 5xx errors on payments grouped by route" and Studio transpiles to NovaQL, runs it, and configures a widget. Power users can edit the SQL directly. The same query language is in use everywhere else on the platform, so what you build in Studio works in Notes and wherever else queries appear.

  • Plain-English mode: type a question; Studio transpiles + builds the widget
  • SQL mode: edit the query directly when plain-English is not precise enough
  • Reusable across surfaces: a NovaQL query saved here is callable from Notes, alerts, and scheduled reports

Layouts

Drag widgets, snap to grid

Layouts are a 12-column grid. Drag widgets, resize, snap to grid. Save a layout as a named dashboard. Layouts work on mobile too, Studio reflows to a single column with the widgets in the order you set. Useful for the on-call engineer checking a dashboard from a phone during a 3am page.

  • 12-column grid: snap-to-grid keeps things aligned; no pixel-perfect editing required
  • Mobile reflow: a saved layout adapts to a phone; widgets stack in the order you placed them
  • Named dashboards: every layout is named; named dashboards have stable URLs to share

Sharing & Embedding

A dashboard others can read

Dashboards are shareable. Org-wide read access by default; tenant-scoped (cannot leak across tenants). Embed-friendly, a dashboard URL renders cleanly in a Notion / Confluence / wiki iframe with auth pass-through. The screenshots that show up in your weekly review can be the live dashboard.

  • Org-wide read: org members can view; cannot edit unless explicitly granted
  • Tenant scoped: never visible across tenants; auth always enforced
  • Wiki-embed friendly: iframe-clean; auth pass-through means the embed works for the reader's account

Custom dashboards without PromQL

Studio makes "I want a chart for this" a 60-second task instead of a 60-minute one.
